K9 Corps Program

A Neighborhood Partnership

The Presbyterian Cemetery's K9 Corps is a separate program from the management of the cemetery and welcomes responsible dog walkers to enjoy our cemetery's beautiful and historic grounds. Through this program, members gain special access to walk their dogs while helping us maintain the serene and respectful environment that makes our cemetery a treasured part of Alexandria's history. Registration is required for participation; to join, please email pcck9corps@gmail.com rather than our Cemetery Superintendent.

Membership is open to:

Individuals with loved ones buried in the cemetery
Current plot or niche owners
Members of the Old Presbyterian Meeting House

In addition to dog-walking privileges, K9 Corps members have a strong tradition of community service. In the past, more than 24 active members came together for Clean-Up Days, spending hours cleaning headstones, pulling invasive English Ivy, and picking up litter. Their dedication helps preserve the Presbyterian Cemetery as the "Crown Jewel" of the Wilkes Street Cemetery Complex. We are grateful for their ongoing efforts and invite new members to join this special community.
