A NEIGHBORHOOD PARTNERSHIP

The Presbyterian Cemetery K9 Corps

The Presbyterian Cemetery K9 Corps is a community-centered program that offers responsible dog owners the opportunity to walk their dogs within the serene, historic grounds of the Presbyterian Cemetery. While managed separately from cemetery operations, the K9 Corps aligns closely with our mission to preserve the dignity and beauty of this sacred site.

Because of the cemetery’s limited size and historic significance, K9 Corps membership is capped at 80 families. Once the cap is reached, additional applicants will be placed on a waitlist and notified as openings become available.

Important Note: The 80-family cap does not apply to:

  • Individuals with loved ones buried in the cemetery
  • Current plot or niche owners
  • Members of the Old Presbyterian Meeting House

These individuals are always eligible to apply and are exempt from membership dues, though registration and approval are still required.

Application and Dues

  • All prospective members must submit an application to the K9 Corps Steering Committee for review and approval.
  • Annual dues are $250 for the first dog, plus $50 for a second dog from the same household.
  • Membership runs from July 1 through June 30, with payment due in full by check or money order to "Presbyterian Cemetery."
  • Dues are non-refundable and non-transferable, and membership may not be extended to individuals outside the registered household.

To apply or inquire about current availability, please contact the K9 Corps Steering Committee at pcck9corps@gmail.com. Please do not contact the Cemetery Superintendent for K9 Corps matters.

In addition to walking privileges, members often participate in volunteer clean-up efforts, including headstone care, litter removal, and invasive plant control. These contributions help preserve the cemetery’s status as the “Crown Jewel” of the Wilkes Street Cemetery Complex. We invite qualified applicants to join this unique and dedicated community.
